This is Momma with Baby. Momma is only three years old! The first picture shows the conditions they were living in prior to being rescued, temps were close to 100 degree's, no shelter, and only hot muddy water to share between five horses. Picture's taken July 4, 2003. Momma was severely underweight and was not able to produce milk for Baby. She also had severe dehydration, leg laceration on front right leg due to being tied together to Baby, proud flesh-which required surgery, needed hooves done, and teeth floated.

These are more pictures of Momma taken August 20, 2003. Hooves had been done, teeth had been floated, de-wormed, and had to be put on mare and foal feed to bring milk back. Was fed every 3 hours day and night, and good hay, equi-shine (daily), and daily wormer.

This is Baby. The first picture on the left is taken on July 4, 2003. Baby had leg laceration that became infected in the right front foot due to being tied to Momma. He was underweight, severely dehydrated, full of worms, had dog collar around neck, sunburned, and fever. The picture on the right was taken August 20, 2003. Baby was able to start nursing shortly after Momma had been on Mare and Foals milk.

Annie was pregnant, had rain rot, severely dehydrated, full of worms, bad breath due to teeth, hooves needed to be trimmed, sores on body, and 275 pounds underweight! The picture on the right was taken on July 28, 2003, her coat is starting to look better, hooves had been done.

This is Princes 90 days after being rescued! Her care again like the others consisted of being fed every 3 hours day and night, which included senior grain, rice brain, weight gain, equi-shine (daily), and good hay. She was also put on sand clear and was supposed to be on that for the rest of her life. Teeth were floated and hooves were also done.

This is April. Picture's were taken July 4, 2003. She was severely dehydrated, 150 pounds underweight, sores in mouth which were bleeding causing bad breath, halter embedded into flesh, full of worms, and could barely walk.

The left picture is April on August 20, 2003. The picture on the right is her on December 15, 2003. You would not even know it was the same horse except for the spot behind her left shoulder blade. Her care consisted of being fed every 3 hours day and night, de-wormed, teeth floated (when ready), hooves done, equi-shine (daily), and good hay.
These horses were court-ordered back to the original owners, the top four horses we do not know where or how they are. The bottom horse April we do know that she is being very well cared for and looks great!

This is Dakota. Pictures were taken September 2003. She had a severe laceration to her right leg. She had been severely beaten around her head and malnourished.

This is Dakota in May of 2004. She had several surgeries on her leg due to not healing right. She will not be able to be ridden because of her stifle. Her care consisted of getting on a regular, balanced nutrition.

This is Luck. These pictures were taken August 7, 2007. He is severely underweight, needed teeth floated, hooves done, full of worms, severely dehydrated, sores, etc. UPDATE: In March of 2008 Luck had to be euthanized. When he came to us his organs had already started to shut down, and eventually it started to make his muscles in his left hind leg deteriorate. Everything that could be done and all avenues that could be thought of were! He was dearly loved by us and will always be missed by all of us in the group!

This is Rampage. Picture was taken August 7, 2007. He was severely underweight, sunburned, sores, needed teeth floated, hooves done.

This is April who is now in her late 30's! She was at one time a lead horse for a trail riding stable. She became blind from the sun and did not have any type of shelter. She was underweight, needed teeth floated, and hooves done when she was brought to us. As you can see she is doing great and has been adopted!
This is Maggie. She was rescued in 2005 where she had been kept in a stall, manure up to belly, and was not being fed. She is doing great and has been adopted!
This is Star. Pictures were taken February of 2008. He was abandoned in a pasture where he had no food, water, or shelter except for some trees. Surrounding neighbors would put hay out for him. He needed his teeth floated, hooves trimmed, and proper nutrition, and he was also a stallion. He was gelded immediately, we were able to get all the burdocks out without having to cut any of his mane or tail. He got his teeth floated, hooves trimmed, and all required shots.
This is Star! Picture was taken March of 2008. He has been adopted!
THIS IS WHY WE DO THIS!!!
